The Big Ideal
We are mobile. We are CREATIVE. We make things using resources around and within us. We are the Creative Collective!
This project aims to enhance the lived experience of children in mobile sites (refugee camps, temporary residential zones, reserves, informal settlements) by addressing their needs and interests. We are interested in achieving this objective through the broad spectrum of creativity and education, which we see as a crucial building block in the development of a healthy society.
We create within mobile sites because we believe that in such areas, personal health and psychological well-being become strained under the constantly shifting environments and the unpredictable movements of their ever-increasing inhabitants. It is within such sites that children learn and rehearse cycles of violence that come from this instability of space, place and time. Our work aims to reconcile the fractures caused by these uncertainties. And so each time we gather, we endeavour to build and grow and grow and build, always proactively, always positively.
