Our 2004 course of study in Rio Claro, Costa Rica, resulted in thirteen separate research projects and three new homes built, all in the space of two weeks! But more than that, it provided an opportunity for all of us to experience immersion in another culture, the joy of being an integral part of a community, and the importance of working together to achieve common goals.

   Service Learning brings with it cultural understanding and experience, resulting in a deeper and more meaningful understanding of self, academics, and the world.
